Isaac Droscha is currently a Visiting Scholar on faculty at HKUST in the Humanities division, with a specialization in opera and vocal performance. He has performed a number of roles with different regional companies in the United States, including the Des Moines Metro Opera, Opera New Jersey, and Arbor Opera Theater, for which he is currently serving as a board member. He has also worked for Michigan Opera Theater and Motor City Lyric Opera on Wheels. He has received numerous positive reviews, particularly for his comedic performances, including roles such as Verdi’s Falstaff and Mozart’s Leporello. Other roles performed include the title role in Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia, Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro, the Musik Lehrer in Stauss’ Ariadne auf Naxos, Nick Shadow in Stravinsky’s The Rake’s Progress, Dr. Falke in Strauss’ Die Fledermaus. He also is working as a concert performer of oratorio and art song and has performed roles in Handel’s Messiah, Faure’s Reqiuem, Mozart Reqiuem, Hayden’s The Creation.  He has sung as a soloist with the Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra, the Ann Arbor Symphonette, The Pro Arte Orchestra of Hong Kong, and has been an Artist at the Bay View Music Festival. He received fellowships and Scholarships from Hope College, the University of Northern Iowa, and the University of Michigan for Study and at Hope College was awarded the Sakiko Kanimori award, the Grace Magurite Browning Scholarship for voice and was a finalist in the Grand Rapids Opera Competition. He holds a minor in creative writing from Hope College in Holland Michigan and a Doctorate in Vocal Performance form the University of Michigan.

In December will be performing in Musica Viva’s production of Turandot by Puccini at Hong Kong City Hall.
