Celebrated worldwide for its unique sound and innovative programming, The Munich Chamber Orchestra, under the direction of Artistic Director and Principal Conductor, Alexander Liebreich, will be joined by renowned cellist, Trey Lee, for a programme that will include a demonstration and discussion of The Blazing Mirage by HKUST’s Y.K. Pao Distinguished Visiting Professor and Artistic Director of The Intimacy of Creativity, Bright Sheng.

The Munich Chamber Orchestra is celebrated worldwide for its unique sound and innovative programming. Under the artistic direction of acclaimed German conductor Alexander Liebreich, the group has established an international reputation for its remarkable interpretation of contemporary works. The novel approach to thematic concerts adopted by the orchestra has also presented fresh opportunities for classical music to be performed alongside the latest compositions.

Trey Lee    Violoncello
Hailed as “a miracle” by Gramophone, Trey Lee’s concerto debut at Carnegie Hall in New York won him a standing ovation, with the New York Times, declaring him as an “excellent cellist…with enveloping richness and lyrical sensitivity.” He has been critically acclaimed for his numerous collaborations with internationally renowned orchestras and conductors, including the Philharmonia Orchestra, Lorin Maazel, Paul Daniel, and Osmo Vänskä.
